Campaign overview: not one flagship review, but every single variant

Between 7 April and 23 July 2026, Testuj.to by FRENX ran thirty parallel testing campaigns for Royal Canin in the Czech and Slovak markets. The whole dry food portfolio was tested: breed lines for dogs (Yorkshire terrier, Labrador, German shepherd, boxer, dachshund, retriever), size lines from Mini to Giant, puppy and senior variants and the complete cat range including Sterilised, Outdoor, Fussy and the 11+ and 15+ age lines. Twenty dog campaigns, ten cat campaigns.
Pet food is a category where the customer doesn't buy a brand — they buy one specific bag for one specific breed and age. The decision hinges on whether someone described how the animal took to that exact variant. The goal was therefore coverage of every variant, not a single flagship review.
The challenge: the hard part wasn't volume, it was running everything at once
Thirty campaigns mean thirty different target groups. The owner of a giant-breed puppy is not interchangeable with the owner of a fifteen-year-old cat — and a product sent to the wrong tester never produces a usable review.
Demand also differed more than tenfold. Fussy, the food for picky cats, drew 616 applications for 30 places, Sterilised 406 and Outdoor 361. Mini Puppy, on the other hand, got 62 applications and Medium Starter 64. Capacity stayed the same in every campaign.

The solution: selection by animal profile, not by order of application
Where demand exceeded capacity, testers were selected by the breed, age and size of the animal in their profile; under-subscribed campaigns got additional targeted recruitment. All thirty campaigns ran in one admin environment on a single timeline, each product with its own campaign, questionnaire and target group.
Every approved review went automatically to Testuj.to and to the client's own destination; products listed on Heureka gained a third placement. The gap in demand did not show in the results: the lowest return rate was Mini Starter Mother & Babydog at 77 %, while seven campaigns hit a full 100 %.
Results in numbers: from 4,535 applications to 828 published reviews
Thirty products in test, each in its own campaign, all in one window. 4,535 applications (151 per campaign on average), 879 selected testers and 828 reviews delivered by 817 unique testers.
A 94 % return rate — nine out of ten selected testers submitted a review. Average rating 4.8 out of 5, 99.3 % of testers would recommend the product, 1,858 photos were added and 241 reviews were also published on Heureka.cz.

What testers praised: composition, taste and smell — in that order
The most frequently mentioned plus was composition (127 reviews, 15 %), followed by taste (113, 14 %), smell (100, 12 %), kibble size (83, 10 %) and digestibility (45, 5 %).
Attribute ratings on a scale of 5: taste 4.9 (828 ratings), digestibility 4.8 (774), quality 4.8 (828), composition 4.7 (828). Best rated products: Mini Puppy 4.98, Ageing 11+ 4.96 and Sensible 4.95 — the puppy and senior lines, where owners watch the animal's reaction most closely.

What testers disliked: one complaint outweighs all the rest
The most common objection was price. It appeared in 187 of 828 reviews, i.e. 23 % — usually phrased as „price“, „higher price“ or „higher price than ordinary kibble“. Everything else was far rarer: kibble size or hardness in 70 reviews (8 %), packaging 57 (7 %), availability 5.
299 reviews, or 36 %, listed no drawback at all — testers wrote „none“, „nothing“ or a dash in the minuses field. Sixteen reviews ended at 6 out of 10 or lower. The lowest average belonged to Mini Adult (4.55 out of 5), followed by Fussy (4.63) and Kitten (4.65).

Where the reviews landed — and what is still running in Poland
Every review was published in at least two places: 828 on Testuj.to and 828 on the client's site and e-shops. For 241 reviews a third placement on Heureka was added.
On Brandtestingclub.pl, two waves with the same portfolio are running for Royal Canin — 60 campaigns, 3,822 applications and 425 selected testers. As of 19 Aug 2026, 228 reviews had been submitted, with the second wave closing on 26 August. The Polish figures are not final and are not added to the Czech ones.
Methodology note: data come from the Testuj.to by FRENX admin database, calculated as of 19 Aug 2026. A review means an approved review; ratings are recorded on a 1–10 scale and converted to a scale of 5.
Sample reviews
Sterilised (cats)
„Composition matches the cat's age. The kibble size helps clean teeth and gums. The cats clearly enjoy it and digest it without any problems."
Maxi Adult 5+
„It disappears from the bowl straight away — clearly tasty. Highly digestible. Better muscle condition and a shinier coat."
Fussy (cats)
„I have genuinely fussy cats and they devour this kibble."
Mini Adult
„A slightly pricier kibble. After a while our dog stopped liking it. Unclear meat content. A significant share of grains."
Medium Adult
„The higher fat content increases the risk of weight gain in less active dogs. Weaker value for money."
Sensible (cats)
„The bag did have a zip, but it opened during the first few uses and stopped working."
„I have genuinely fussy cats and they devour this kibble."
